Biography

About Bob Freitas Artist

I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii 1951. My worldwide travels have included Europe, Asia, North America and various Pacific Rim countries. I developed my artistic roots in Germany in the 1960s. My experiences at Documenta and other art shows in Paris, Luxembourg and Holland provided me with a solid foundation as a contemporary artist. I started as a painter and worked as an architectural draftsman with dreams of becoming an architect. My educational studies have included art, architecture, anthropology, engineering, political science and law. My artistic style is abstract. I create compositions that use carefully selected materials which incorporate structural elements, most are based on anthropometric relationships to achieve a unique visual and spatial balance. Balance and time are recurring themes in my work.
